Showing unprecedented fundraising prowess, Sixth District congressional candidate Sean Casten today announced that he raised over $789,767 – with 98% of the donations $250 or less – in the 2nd Quarter of 2018. The amount exceeds what every previous challenger raised in a single quarter since Peter Roskam was elected. Since the March 20th primary over 69,136 individuals have contributed to the campaign.
“We expect Donald Trump to traffic in alternative facts, and now Peter Roskam has taken Trump’s cue by lying about Casten’s positions. It’s obvious Peter doesn’t want to run on his record of raising middle class taxes and taking healthcare away from millions of Americans, and instead wants to hypocritically attack Sean Casten.”

This regrettable decision is yet another showing the current Supreme Court will consistently favor the interests of corporations over those of unions, individual workers, and families working to get ahead in Illinois.
This horrendous decision by the Supreme Court allows the President to discriminate on the basis of religion — undermining a central tenet of our Constitution. Instead of simply rubber-stamping President Trump’s discriminatory travel ban, it’s incumbent on this Congress to override it.
