CASTEN STATEMENT ON CONFIRMATION OF BRETT KAVANAUGH

(Downers Grove, IL) Saturday, October 6, 2018 – Today the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Sean Casten, Sixth District candidate for Congress released the following statement:

“Today Senate Republicans rushed to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. In doing so they also sent a terrible message that they do not care about credible accusations of sexual assault or respect survivors of sexual trauma who have courageously come forward and deserve to be heard.”

“Now it’s up to us to send them a message — by voting these Senators out of office along with everyone who has pushed this nomination forward including Donald Trump and Peter Roskam, who endorsed Brett Kavanaugh and praised him as an “exemplary” choice the day after he was nominated. Our district deserves a representative in Congress who won’t rubber stamp Donald Trump’s agenda or his unqualified pick for the Supreme Court.”
