Westmont is a village in DuPage county, about 20 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. A dynamic community with a population of nearly 25,000, Westmont is known for its convenient location and reasonable cost of living

 

Living in Westmont

Six good school districts serve the families living in Westmont, including Maercker District 60, Community Unified School District 201, Downers Grove District 58, Darien District 61, Hinsdale High School District 86 and Downers Grove High School District 99.

Downtown Chicago is easily accessible from Westmont, as the  village has a Metra station on the BNSF railway. Westmont also provides easy access by car, given its proximity to interstates I-88, I-55, I-294, and I-355.

What to See

Westmont is home to the Salt Creek Ballet Company, which is known for its annual performance of the Nutcracker. The Annual Taste of Westmont in July offers music, carnival rides, food from local vendors and a car show. Also in Westmont are the Twin Lakes Golf Course and the Green Meadows Golf Club.

Muddy Waters, known as the Godfather of Blues spent his last days in Westmont and is remembered here by Muddy Waters Park and a historical exhibit on south Cass Ave.  

Another historical attraction in Westmont is the Gregg House Museum, former home of William L. Gregg, renowned brick manufacturer and inventor.

 

Congressional Representation

Westmont is contained entirely within Illinois’ 6th congressional district.

In 2018, Sean Casten is running against the incumbent Peter Roskam, who has held the 6th district congressional seat since 2007.
