Tower Lakes is a village located in the southwest corner of Lake County, north of Lake Barrington and northwest of Lake Zurich, and about 40 miles northwest of Chicago. Its population is just over 1,300. Tower Lakes was originally developed as a recreational summer home community in the 1920s and became popular due to its many scenic private lakes. Tower Lakes has received official designation as a “Tree City.”

 

Living in Tower Lakes

Students in Tower Lakes attend the award-winning Barrington Community Unit School District 220 schools, including North Barrington Elementary School, Barrington Middle School- Prairie Campus and Station Campus, and Barrington High School.   

Commuter rail service is available from the Barrington Metra Rail Station, about ten minutes south of the village, and from the Fox River Grove Metra Rail Station southwest of the village.

What to See

In addition to boating and fishing on Tower Lake, the village has a network of parks including four playground parks, five community parks with beach access, three sports parks, and three unique “poet parks” for quiet reflection.

Other fun annual activities in Tower Lakes include the Fall Chili Cook-Off, the Spring Progressive Dinner, and the four-day long 4th of July celebration in summer.

 

Congressional Representation

Tower Lakes is contained entirely within Illinois’ 6th congressional district.

In 2018, Sean Casten is running against the incumbent Peter Roskam, who has held the 6th district congressional seat since 2007.
