Sleepy Hollow is a village in Kane County, located near West Dundee in the Fox River Valley. Developed by a local landowner beginning in the 1950’s, Sleepy Hollow has grown into a community of about 3,000 people, many of whom chose Sleepy Hollow due to its rural appearance, good schools, and convenient location.

Sleepy Hollow consists almost entirely of residential areas, with only a few commercial locations along the northern and eastern edges of the village. Sleepy Hollow was developed with the intention of preserving the natural beauty of the area, which is evident today in the village’s winding roads, large trees, and many ponds and lakes. Sleepy Hollow is served by highly-regarded Community Unit School District 300, with most elementary students attending Sleepy Hollow Elementary School. Sleepy Hollow residents can enjoy the variety of facilities operated by the Dundee Township Park District, including the Sleepy Hollow Pool, many parks and playgrounds, and two recreation centers. What to See Sleepy Hollow is famous for its Halloween celebration, which features hayrides, a massive bonfire, and an appearance from the Headless Horseman.
