The Village of Oak Brook is a pleasant community located about 30 minutes west of Chicago. Oak Brook is known for its excellent shopping and golfing, multiple corporate headquarters, and tree-lined scenery. Oak Brook is home to about 8,000 residents and attracts large numbers of visitors into to the village limits due to its amenities. Most of the village is located in DuPage County, with a smaller portion located in Cook County.
Living in Oak Brook
Oak Brook is served by Butler School District 53, which includes the excellent Brook Forest Elementary School and Butler Junior High School. Additionally, Oak Brook is home to a number of corporate headquarters, such as Advocate Medical Care, Ace Hardware, and ADT Security. However, the largest of these, McDonalds, has recently announced it plans to move its headquarters to downtown Chicago, into the location formerly occupied by Oprah’s Harpo Studios. What to See The Oakbrook Center is one of the premiere shopping locations in the Chicago suburbs, located near I-88. The Village of Oakbrook also owns and operates the beautiful Bath & Tennis Club which is open to both residents and non-residents and is a popular spot for pool, tennis, and weddings. The village is also home to the popular Oak Brook Golf Club.
The Park District of Oak Brook has also announced a very exciting $1 million “Universal Playground” in Central Park, which will be open to the public from dawn to dusk. More information on Oak Brook can be found on the village website here. |

Oak Brook is contained within Illinois’ 6th Congressional District. In 2018, Sean Casten is running against the incumbent Peter Roskam, who has held the 6th district congressional seat since 2007.
