Long Grove is a small, northern suburb of Chicago, approximately 35 miles northwest of the Loop. Long Grove is known for its historic downtown and for the town’s preservation efforts to retain the rural charm of its origins. It is also known for its charming shops and restaurants, recalling a bygone era.

Long Grove is served by Diamond Lake School District 76, Fremont School District 79, and Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96. At the high school level, Long Grove is served by Mundelein and Stevenson high schools.

The Long Grove Park District maintains Longview Meadow and other recreation areas, in addition to offering educational programs for children and adults.

What to See

Long Grove hosts three annual festivals: a chocolate fest in May, a strawberry fest in June, and an apple fest in September. These festivals draw large crowds from throughout the region.

 

Congressional Representation

Portions of Long Grove are in Illinois’ 10th congressional district, while other areas of the Long Grove are in the 6th district.

Democrat, Bradley Schneider, has been the congressman of the 10th district since January 2017.

In the 6th district, Sean Casten is running against the incumbent Peter Roskam, who has held the 6th district congressional seat since 2006.

Sean is committed to serving Long Grove and the rest of the 6th district by focusing on facts and working to strengthen the community’s schools and economy.
