Fox River Grove is a small community in the northern section of Illinois’ 6th congressional district. It takes its name from the Fox River, which borders the village on the north. Fox River Grove is located about an hour’s drive Northwest of Chicago, between Crystal Lake and Barrington. With just under 5,000 residents, the village can trace its history back through the 19th century. Portions of Fox River Grove are located in McHenry and Lake counties.

Fox River Grove is a quiet residential neighborhood with “over 100 acres of parks and space.” The village parks are a great resource for local families and include activities such as hiking, playgrounds, fishing areas, baseball and soccer fields, and other recreational opportunities for outdoor lovers.
Fox River Grove residents are part of the District 3 school district for elementary school, and Cary-Grove High School District 155. District 155 is one of Illinois’ top school districts and was ranked by the Washington Post as one of the most challenging districts nationwide.
What to See
One of Fox RIver Grove’s most popular attractions is the Norge Ski Jump, a training facility used by many Olympic athletes and the site of a ski competition which draws as many as 10,000 spectators.
Fox River Grove also hosts a variety of community events throughout the year, including 5k races, music festivals, and large celebrations for Christmas and Independence Day.
