(Downer’s Grove, IL). On June 15th, the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Action Fund endorsed Illinois’ 6th Congressional District Representative Sean Casten for re-election. The NRDC Action Fund, whose mission is to build political support for protecting the environment, endorsed Casten because he will “fight to create clean energy jobs [and] restore common–sense environmental safeguards.”

“My top priority in Congress and business has been to combat climate change and leave the world a better place for our children,” said Representative Sean Casten. “Reducing carbon emissions and promoting clean energy jobs is the key to building a future that we can all be proud of. I am honored to receive the NRDC Action Fund endorsement and will continue to champion environmental issues in Congress.”

Casten is a cosponsor of the bipartisan Climate Action Now Act that would keep America committed to the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. He also serves as Co-Chair of the New Democrat Coalition Climate Change Task Force. Prior to his career in public service, Casten was the CEO of a clean energy company that worked to profitably reduce greenhouse emissions.
