POLL: SEAN CASTEN OVERTAKES PETER ROSKAM
Sean Casten Surging As Voters Don’t Buy Peter Roskam’s Negative Record and False Attacks
(Downers Grove, IL) September 20, 2018 – Yesterday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported on new polling showing Sean Casten leading his opponent Peter Roskam by 47 to 44 percent. Sixth District Congressional Candidate Sean Casten released the following statement:
“Despite Peter Roskam and Washington special interest groups spending millions on television ads to try and rewrite history with alternative facts, it’s becoming clearer every day: Voters aren’t buying Peter Roskam’s agenda of cutting his constituent’s access to health care, or his record of voting with Donald Trump 94 percent of the time.”
“I am proud of the campaign we’re running to protect health care for people with pre-existing conditions, to protect women’s rights and health, to ensure we have common-sense gun laws, and to be accessible to voters when their own member of Congress is not. This is just further evidence that we have the momentum to give our community the independent check on the President it wants.”
The poll shows Peter Roskam’s unfavorable public opinion worsening, and when voters learn more about Sean Casten they like what they are learning about his business background and bringing an independent, common-sense approach to Washington for a change.
To date, four key political prognosticators Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, Election Projection, and Larry Sabato all list this race a toss-up. The Casten campaign poll and the New York Times latest public polling confirms that.
