PETER ROSKAM SHOULD DO SOMETHING, NOT JUST SAY SOMETHING ABOUT RUSSIA

Roskam’s Statements Ring Hollow When Matched With His Inaction in Congress

(Downers Grove) July 17, 2018 – Sixth Congressional Candidate Sean Casten released the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s joint remarks with Russian President Vladimir Putin:

“Yesterday, Donald Trump put America second. The entirety of the U.S intelligence community agrees that Russia interfered in the U.S. elections in 2016 — specifically targeting the State of Illinois — and Donald Trump today considered it water under the bridge,” said Casten “Peter Roskam chimed in, but so far his actions have not matched his rhetoric.”

“When an opportunity was presented to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller — allowing him to continue his investigation of Russian meddling — Peter Roskam was nowhere to be seen. Roskam’s unwillingness to serve as a check and balance on Trump’s dangerous agenda is undermining U.S. interests on the world stage and making America less safe and secure.”

A bipartisan bill was introduced in the House to prevent the White House from removing Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Peter Roskam has not co-sponsored the bill, and additionally refused to sign the discharge petition to bring the bill to a vote.
