“Peter Roskam is afraid to debate in front of his own constituents. We’ve been invited to multiple debates in our own district --- open and free for voters -- but Roskam refuses to even give the courtesy of a response to many of those groups. We will debate him any time, anywhere, but we prefer that debates be held in the district.”

“Today at the White House Peter Roskam should demand President Trump renounce his support of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and put America first,” said Sean Casten, Democratic nominee for Congress in Illinois's 6th District.

“Yesterday, Donald Trump put America second. The entirety of the U.S intelligence community agrees that Russia interfered in the U.S. elections in 2016 -- specifically targeting the State of Illinois -- and Donald Trump today considered it water under the bridge,” said Casten “Peter Roskam chimed in, but so far his actions have not matched his rhetoric.”

“It’s appropriate that the cost to attend Mike Pence’s fundraiser for Peter Roskam is $25,000 per couple, because the super-wealthy benefited most from Peter Roskam’s tax bill.  Meanwhile, everyday families will pay even more since Peter cut their deduction for state and local taxes – including property taxes,” said Casten.

“I am disappointed, but not surprised, that Peter Roskam already has decided that Brett Kavanaugh deserves to sit on the Supreme Court. Peter Roskam’s not interested in the Senate hearings and what Judge Kavanaugh has to say — just as Peter Roskam’s not interested in hearing from his own constituents. This is another example of how Peter Roskam’s driven by ideology, not by facts, similar to when he didn’t wait for the Congressional Budget Office to evaluate the cost or impact of repealing the Affordable Care Act.”
