Downers Grove, IL — Today, U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) announced he has been endorsed for re-election by Giffords PAC in their most recent slate of incumbent endorsements.

“Our country is at a crossroads, and we need leaders in Washington who are committed to combating the gun violence epidemic that continues to ravage our communities,” said former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in a statement. “Each of these gun safety champions understand the urgency that this moment requires, and I know they will not stop until our cities and towns are protected from senseless tragedies.”

“I remain steadfastly committed to passing gun reform and honored to have the support of Giffords PAC,” said Rep. Sean Casten. “Together, we will continue the fight for more robust gun violence prevention legislation.”

Rep. Casten has established himself as one of Congress’ most vocal gun reform advocates. He has passed multiple pieces of legislation to address gun violence and recently introduced the Gun Trafficking Detection Act to enhance law enforcement’s ability to track stolen or lost guns across state lines. Casten has previously been endorsed by Brady PAC, another leading gun violence prevention organization.

Giffords PAC recently announced a historic $10 million investment to mobilize gun violence prevention voters and support candidates with the courage to act to end gun violence in key states.
